Get assistance

You don’t have to
start over alone.

Our primary focus is households experiencing complete loss through fire or another disaster. We also help families facing other current, urgent crises through caseworker referrals.

01

Fire-affected households

Please bring proof of the address affected by the fire. Email us before visiting to confirm the current location, hours, and availability of the items you need.

02

Other disasters or urgent crises

Bring a current caseworker referral on agency letterhead, signed by the caseworker, with their phone number.

  • Your name and address
  • Household size and family members’ ages
  • The current disaster or crisis and urgent need
  • The specific items your household needs

Assistance guidelines & visitor rules

  1. Disaster relief comes first. Furniture, household goods, and essentials are primarily reserved for those who have experienced complete loss through fire, flood, or another disaster.
  2. Other current crises require a caseworker referral brought at the time of your visit. It must be on agency letterhead, include the caseworker’s signature and phone number, and specifically identify the current crisis and items needed. Share sensitive details privately with our team. Referrals do not guarantee assistance; help depends on inventory on hand.
  3. Clothing is open to anyone in need, with one visit per person every 14 days. Limit: the equivalent of two brown paper shopping bags OR four plastic shopping bags per visit, to ensure enough for everyone.
  4. Be courteous, patient, and mindful that others may have experienced great tragedy.
  5. Respect shoppers and volunteers. Abusive language, threats, harassment, or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated. If asked to leave for these reasons, you will also be asked not to return.
  6. SHOP ONLY FOR YOUR HOUSEHOLD—NOT FOR OTHERS WHO DO NOT LIVE WITH YOU. Take only what your household currently needs. Items are not for resale. Honor all quantity limits.
  7. Check in before shopping. Follow volunteer directions and obtain approval before removing furniture or household goods.
  8. Supervise children at all times and keep them off furniture. You will be asked to leave if you are not monitoring your children. Keep walkways clear, stay out of volunteer-only areas, and ask for help moving heavy items.
  9. Arrange your own transportation and enough help to safely load and move large items.
  10. Respect privacy. Do not photograph or record others without permission or press anyone to share their story.
  11. Visit during posted hours. Check this website for hours, closures, and location updates before coming.
  12. Coordinate donations with our team. Items must be clean, safe, and usable. DO NOT LEAVE DONATIONS OUTSIDE OR DROP THEM OFF WHEN WE ARE CLOSED. We may decline donations based on condition, space, or current needs.

A branching tree with a heart in its trunk

Helping Other People Elevate

Our story

Rooted in faith.
Here for our community.

Founded by Alicia Doney, Branches of Hope is a faith-based community disaster and crisis relief warehouse serving Spokane and surrounding communities.

What began as a response to local wildfire needs grew into a place where donated furniture, clothing, and household essentials help neighbors facing difficult circumstances. We welcome people of every faith and background.

Community members, volunteers, churches, and service agencies help connect generosity with families who need it. Our purpose is simple: offer practical support, treat people with dignity, and help them move forward with hope.
